Here's a sneak peak of one of the cards we did at our April card club - Anniversary/Congratulations theme. Have you ever noticed that the Whisper White card stock is thinner than the color card stock? That is because it is pressed (compressed?) harder to deliver the quality, finish you expect. If you want to use white as your card base, use the Naturals White. You're correct - I did not learn this until
after we made the card using Whisper White.
The bow is a "fork bow". The bigger the fork, the wider the bow. This bow was made with the fork from my salad set. Here's the materials used:
Stamp set: Cheers To You, Something to Celebrate (Hostess set)
Card Stock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories/Tools: 5/8" Organza Ribbon, Big Shot with Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, glitter
. Everything coordinates - you can't go wrong. I usually make about 6 different cards from a pack and use the rest of the paper in my scrapbook.
I used the Mojo Monday 191 challenge for my inspiration. The materials include Glimmer In-Color brads, Designer Series Paper Patterns In-Color Pack, taffeta and grosgrain ribbon. Whisper White, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz, and Chocolate Chip card stock. The bows were made using a fork and the base of the brad was punched using the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. The scooter was colored with colored pencils and blended using Sansodor.
This card incorporates the faux mother-of-pearl papercrafting technique. It is so pretty with it's oriental style to it. Must be the cherry blossoms.
