Ships Wheel

The wheel is hand drawn and colored using Prismacolor pencils.  I did this card with a couple of challenges in mind.  Pals Paper Arts color challenge uses Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  I love Daffodil Delight and used it up on another project so I substituted So Saffron.  Night of Navy is substituted with Midnight Muse.  The layout is  the challenge at Mojo Monday.

Here's the ingredients:
Paper:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse (Discontinued), So Saffron, High Tides DSP (Discontinued)
Embellishments:  Gold Brad (Discontinued), Gold Cord (Discontinued)

Color Challenge

I missed the deadline for cQc #95 by about 2-1/2 hours. My own fault for not paying more attention. Here is my card. The challenge colors were Early Espresso, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Island Indigo, and Whisper White. I hand wrote the sentiment using Island Indigo.

Flowers in a Jar

Materials used include Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper. I love the paper packs. Everything coordinates - you can't go wrong. I usually make about 6 different cards from a pack and use the rest of the paper in my scrapbook.

Scooter

I used the Mojo Monday 191 challenge for my inspiration. The materials include Glimmer In-Color brads, Designer Series Paper Patterns In-Color Pack, taffeta and grosgrain ribbon. Whisper White, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz, and Chocolate Chip card stock. The bows were made using a fork and the base of the brad was punched using the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. The scooter was colored with colored pencils and blended using Sansodor.

Happy Mother's Day

This card incorporates the faux mother-of-pearl papercrafting technique. It is so pretty with it's oriental style to it. Must be the cherry blossoms. I "CASEed" this card from the Stampin' Success magazine April issue. It is a monthly magazine sent to Stampin' UP! demonstrators, and it is loaded with tips, techniques, ideas and inspiration. Click here for more information on becoming a demonstrator.

Card Club-April

Here's a sneak peak of one of the cards we did at our April card club - Anniversary/Congratulations theme. Have you ever noticed that the Whisper White card stock is thinner than the color card stock? That is because it is pressed (compressed?) harder to deliver the quality, finish you expect. If you want to use white as your card base, use the Naturals White. You're correct - I did not learn this until after we made the card using Whisper White.

The bow is a "fork bow". The bigger the fork, the wider the bow. This bow was made with the fork from my salad set. Here's the materials used:
Stamp set: Cheers To You, Something to Celebrate (Hostess set)
Card Stock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories/Tools: 5/8" Organza Ribbon, Big Shot with Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, glitter

February - Happy Birthday!

Here's some information about February, my birth month.

Birthstone - Amethyst. It symbolizes piety, humility, spiritual wisdom and sincerity (according to Wikipedia). Flower - Viola (plant) and Primrose. My personal favorite flower is the rose. February 2nd is Ground Hog Day and according to folklore, if the groundhog sees his shadow then winter will last for six more weeks. Yuk! February 14th is Valentine's Day, one of the Loveliest days of the month.

February is the shortest month and only month of the year with less than 30 days - how cool is that? There is 28 days in the month unless it's leap year then there's 29 days and next year, 2012 is a leap year. Yup...you get an extra day.

Coffee Cup

I made myself a cup of coffee the other day and quickly decided to take a picture of it and here's why. I received this coffee cup and saucer set for Christmas from my sister-in-law. Weeeelllll, my husband keeps trying to use it and I would like to get him his very own. I called my sister-in-law to see where she purchased it and she told me it was bought at the local coffee shop and it was their last one. There isn't any information on the bottom of the cup or the saucer. I've also searched online.
