Background

The background for this page was made using the July Fourth set on page 28 of the summer mini catalog. This is a great way to create background paper with stamps.

Jewelry Gift Tin

It has certainly been a long time since my last post. I assure you that I have not fallen off the face of the earth. I have been creating, scrapbooking, and card making but haven't been able to post anything until now.

The inside is lined with batting which cushioned a Pandora bead for my daughters birthday. I punched ten scalloped circles, crumbled them up then lined one on top of the other and put a brad through the center, at which point I folded the layers up. These flowers are all over the web and so easy to make. The leaves were created using the Big Shot. The ribbon trim is Old Olive.

Gift Card Holder

I needed to make a gift card holder for a recent workshop. This is so simple that any card you have can be made into a gift card holder. I did not find this on the internet but if you came up with it before me - it is a great idea. Also, let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.

Most gift cards are 3 3/8 x 2 1/8. Cut a piece of card stock 4 3/8 x 3. Turn the punch over and put the corner into the punch as far as it will go. There are no guides on the punch for this.Angle the card stock so the slit is centered between the two edges.Punch a slit on two opposite corners.Ta-Da!!

A Wedding Card

I love the look of the new Shimmer Paint from Stampin' Up! It is so....shimmery. As I was blog hopping a couple of weeks ago I stumbled on a blog that had information on using the shimmer paint and alcohol in a small spray bottle. Unfortunately, I did not bookmark it so I sponged the paint on with the small sponge dauber. It was difficult to get an even finish but I am pleased with the final outcome anyway. Here's the ingredients:

Stamp set: Season of Joy - decorative swirl, Autumn Days - leaf, Wonderful Words - discontinued..sorry.
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark, Champagne Shimmer Paint
Paper: Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa
Technique: Embossing
